Hindalco
manufactures world-class aluminium alloy wheels
at its plant located at Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar
Haveli, 160 kms from Mumbai. The wheel plant was
set up with technical assistance from Stahlschmidt
& Maiworm, Germany, which is among the world
leaders in alloy wheels.
This has helped the company to optimise capacity
and enhance the share of value-added semi-fabricated
products.
The 300,000 nos. alloy wheel plant is progressively
increasing production.
Hindalco was awarded the prestigious ISO/TS 16949:2002
certification by RWTUV, Germany for its alloy wheel
plant in May 2003, one of the first companies in
the world to achieve this certification. It had
earlier been conferred the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO
14001 certification by RWTUV for its foil and wheel
operations.
The alloy wheel plant has commissioned state-of-the-art
CNC machine lines from IMT, Italy, besides indigenous
drilling and front face machining centres for meeting
the exacting requirements of various customers
Branded as AURA, these high performance alloy wheels
are available in over 100 style options for nearly
all vehicles running on Indian roads.
Hindalco wheels are approved for supply to Maruti-Suzuki,
Tata Motors, Honda, GM, Ford, Hyundai, Mahindra
& Mahindra, Fiat, Hindustan Motors, International
Cars & Motors Ltd. and Reva.
